Marketing, Marketing, Marketing

Marketing, Marketing, Marketing. That is what a lot of 'writing' is about nowadays. Frustrating but true. I now have a book to market, The 12 Dog Days of Christmas in NYC, and step by step am getting geared up for marketing.

Today I designed and printed an author's business card. It has a Dachshund on it, which makes it distinctive, yet it is generic enough that I can use it for other events besides in the promotion of The 12 Dog Days of Christmas in NYC.

Too many times I have come up short when asked for a business card after telling someone about my book. I decided that would not happen during the upcoming SCBWI-SWTX meeting which will host five local librarians--people I hope will invite me to speak at their schools.

Soooo, I asked Shawn, my illustrator to draw a Dachshund on a red leash for me...which she so generously did. Using it I designed a colorful author's business card of red and blues with Microsoft Word Publisher. Then printed them up on my HP color printer.

They look good!!

Now on to getting my web site ready for on-line selling of the book
